Declan is CEO of teamGenie® – a specialist team coaching company – and Global Head of Team Coaching Standards and Accreditation with the Association for Coaching (AC). Declan was made a Lifetime AC Fellow for raising standards of coaching globally.

He led the creation of the AC’s team coaching standards and accreditation schemes, and co-authored and launched the Global Code of Ethics. Declan writes a regular column on tackling team coaching dilemmas, is a frequent commentator on teams in the press and is currently writing two books on coaching teams.

Declan works as a CEO and top team coach and boardroom psychologist, drawing on his earlier experience as a Plc. Director and business leader and a portfolio of current non-executive director roles. Declan is Senior Faculty and co-programme Director of the Team Coaching Studio’s advanced team coaching programmes.

As well as being a Fellow of the Association for Coaching and the first AC-accredited Master Coach, Declan is a Registered and Chartered Psychologist and Chartered CIPD Fellow. He holds master’s degrees from the Universities of Cambridge, Warwick and INSEAD and a doctorate researching team dysfunction. Declan is the creator of the digital team effectiveness and coaching tool - teamSalient®. Prior to coaching, Declan had a varied career in organizations as diverse as the UK’s Foreign Office and Accenture. Declan was decorated for leadership in HM. The Queen’s New Year’s Honours list in an earlier career as an army officer.
