Here is a short overview of the 14 Steps
as laid out in the process:
Step 1: Get the entire team together
Step 2: Ask two specific questions regarding the current performance and desired performance of
the team and have team members respond confidentially.
Step 3: Ask, if each team member could change two key behaviors that would close the gap, which behaviors would they change?
Step 4: Pick one behavior that you think is most important for team members to work on as a team.
Step 5: Have each team member practice Feed Forward (FF) with every other team member of the team.
Step 6: Have each team member pick one behavioral change that he/she believes will have the most impact.
Step 7: Encourage all team members to ask for monthly Feed Forward from each team member.
Step 8: Conduct a mini-survey to follow up on the process in 6 months
Step 9: Then you calculate the results for each team member and give them a confidential report.
Step 10: In a team meeting have each team member discuss their key learnings in the process with each team member.
Step 11: Review a summary of the results with the team
Step 12: Have each team member conduct brief, monthly ‘progress report’ sessions with each other team member
Step 13: Conduct a summary session of the process one year after the process has started.
Step 14: Ask team members if more work on team building is still a good use of time.
